State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) is offering families from the 42nd Legislative House District an opportunity to obtain free identification cards for their children.
The event will be held on Thursday, August 27 at Rep. Grant’s Wheaton office, located at 416 E. Roosevelt Road, #111. This event is limited to 90 children and is scheduled by appointment only so that proper social distancing can be maintained. Parents/guardians will leave with an I.D. that includes a photo, fingerprints and personal information about each child. Information collected is for parent/guardian use only; police do not keep a copy.
“This Child I.D. event is a safe and creative way to offer a useful community service for families this summer,” said Grant. “These I.D. cards are an important document for parents to have on hand in the case of an emergency involving their child.” Only one family will be permitted in the office at a time, and masks are required. Families can reserve spots between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM through an online signup form available at RepGrant.org, or by calling the office at (331) 218-4182 or emailing the office at Grant@ilhousegop.org.
