This picture is from October 2021 when students, Samson and Giselle came to Springfield advocating for the Invest in Kids Scholarship Program. Since then the program’s future has been in jeopardy with a “sunset” deadline quickly approaching.
However, while in Springfield this week I received this letter that outlines organized labor’s support for keeping the program alive. They understand the importance of our children having access to the best education and how it’ll only lead to a more qualified workforce down the road. This is great news and I am optimistic about our chances at seeing this included in the budget.
