Last week in Springfield, I attended a reception for Misericordia.
The facility is a place that truly lives up to its name, which is Latin for “heart of mercy”. They serve over 600 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in and around Chicagoland, providing a range of services from residential care to employment opportunities.
Despite being under the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, Misericordia welcomes everyone from all faiths. They need our support to continue this incredible work, as they must raise $30m annually to cover program costs.
Thanks to Father Jack for the insightful presentation. So inspired by the community involvement and the emphasis on putting people first.
