Distracted Driving Awareness Month

DuPage County, IL – State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) is reminding DuPage County residents that the National Safety Council and the State of Illinois have declared April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

“This April I am urging all drivers to recommit themselves to safe driving habits and in turn keeping our roads safe. Distracted driving is a leading cause of Illinois road accidents and could be prevented with better decisions behind the wheel” said Grant.

This year, the National Safety Council will engage in a month-long, nationwide distracted driving education campaign by working with the State of Illinois and other units of government to promote policies and practices that lead to increased safety on our roadways.

State Representative Grant concluded: “Making safe and responsible decisions when you get behind the wheel is a sure fire way to get everyone back home safe.”
