Spring legislative session adjourned which means we are officially in the best time of year: SUMMER!

I am looking forward to attending our wonderful fairs and festivals, along with the tasty farmers markets and community car shows. Really whenever I can spend time around the many people who make our area so unique and special I am in my happy place

Rep. Grant Legislation Safeguards Patient Privacy and Addresses Opioid Crisis

Wheaton, IL – State Representative Amy Grant (R – Wheaton) introduced HB1879, a bill aimed at tightening the process for picking up Schedule II controlled substances in Illinois. This initiative comes after a shocking incident reported by CBS Chicago, where a Chicago area woman’s opioid prescription was stolen bringing to light a dangerous loophole in current pharmacy privacy protections.

“Protecting our constituents’ privacy, particularly when it concerns their healthcare, is paramount,” stated Rep. Grant. “The opioid crisis in Illinois is a serious epidemic, with more lives lost to the opioid crisis than fatalities from motor vehicle accidents and homicides combined.”

Rep. Grant is DuPage County’s Voice in Springfield

Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) is continuing to urge community members to participate in her legislative survey. Listening to the voices of DuPage County residents ensures Representative Grant can effectively return Illinois into a safer more affordable place to live.

The two different surveys formally administered through her Legislative Office cover newly filed legislation and topics relevant to working families. The push for community feedback will continue throughout the spring, with both survey options available to take online, in person, or over the phone.

Remember: The average child tells seven adults they are being abused before a report is formally made. Moreover, up to 70% of child abuse cases go unreported, putting countless innocent children at risk.
