ILLINOIS – Thanks to legislation passed in the Illinois House of Representatives (HB4592) , Illinois residents will soon be able to access their driver’s licenses and state IDs through digital wallets. The change will start with Apple Wallet by the end of 2025, with plans expand to other platforms like Google Wallet in the future. The new feature will allow users the option to securely store and utilize their IDs using an iPhone or Apple Watch. Illinois joins 10 other states already offering digital IDs.
