SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) has officially filed her legislative agenda to start her 4th term in the 104th General Assembly. Her agenda focuses on supporting families, enhancing public safety, safeguarding the environment, and protecting democracy.
“These bills address issues that matter most to the people of Illinois—affordable childcare, safer communities, clean water and soil, and rebuilding trust in our election procedures,” said Rep. Grant.
Rep. Grant’s 2025 legislative agenda includes:
- Making Child Care Affordable: Legislation (HB1639) to exempt certain supplies purchased by day care centers from sales tax – to lower costs for families and support youth development.
- Combating Opioid Abuse: A measure (HB1638) requiring a photo ID to pick up legally prescribed Schedule II controlled substances from Illinois pharmacies – to prevent addictive medications falling into the wrong hands.
- Protecting the Environment: Legislation (HB1640) which allows the public notice of bids to clean up leaking underground storage tanks to be published online – helping keep Illinois’ soil and water free from harmful pollution.
- Enhancing Voter Integrity: A proposal (HB1454) requiring county clerks to use death certificates to remove deceased individuals from county election authorities’ voter rolls – to reduce the risk of voter fraud and rebuild confidence in election procedures.
- Promoting Civic Architecture: A resolution (HR93) highlighting Illinois’ rich architectural history and encourage timeless, community-centered designs for new public buildings.
“These proposals are practical solutions to real challenges in Illinois,” added Rep. Grant. “From preserving our environment to supporting families and protecting democracy, I’m committed to getting results that make a difference in people’s lives.”
Rep. Grant’s legislation is now under consideration in the Illinois General Assembly.
