Grant to Host Holiday Drive for Jubilee Village

State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) is launching her holiday drive collecting items for welcome baskets for Jubilee Village just in time for Giving Tuesday!

“Jubilee Village does incredible work supporting young single mothers in our area,” said Grant. “Your donations will do a lot to help these young women develop life skills and grow during their stay at Jubilee Village.”

Jubilee Village is a 17-unit apartment building located in Carol Stream serving women from throughout DuPage County. The young women who come to Jubilee Village face life circumstances that stand in the way of pursuing their dreams and developing their talents. Jubilee Village serves women between the ages of 18 and 24 and their children.

The program is designed to support young mothers, help them develop skills to gain independence over their two-year stay at Jubilee Village. Through the program, they have access to employment skills training, further schooling, financial skill-building, and social-emotional learning. In addition, the young mothers benefit from wrap-around services, including counseling, case management, financial planning, parenting classes, job skills, and mentoring from experienced live-in couples on each floor.

This holiday season, Jubilee Village is in need of items to welcome young women to this incredible program. Items needed for welcome baskets include comet cleaner, paper towels, kitchen garbage bags, can openers, spatulas, dish soap, laundry soap, Lysol, plastic wrap, freezer bags, kitchen towels, food storage containers, measuring spoons, measuring cups, and laundry baskets.

Donations can be dropped off at Rep. Grant’s district office in Wheaton, located at 416 East Roosevelt Road, Suite 111, from Tuesday, November 30 to Friday, December 17.
