Rep. Amy Grant to Host Unclaimed Property Day with Illinois Treasurer’s Office; Senator Seth Lewis

WHEATON – State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) is partnering with the Illinois Treasurer’s Office and State Senator Seth Lewis to help local residents reconnect with more than $5 billion in unclaimed property and cash held by the state.

The event, called ICASH Unclaimed Property Day, will take place on Wednesday, August 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Warrenville Park District, located at 3S260 Warren Avenue, Warrenville, IL.

During the event, attendees can meet one-on-one with counselors from the Treasurer’s Office, who will assist them in searching the state’s ICASH database and filing claims for assets that may belong to them.

“This is a fast, simple, and completely free opportunity for residents to see if the state is holding money or property in their name,” said Rep. Grant. “Many people are surprised to find unclaimed funds from old bank accounts, forgotten paychecks, or even inheritances they didn’t know about. It’s definitely worth taking a few minutes to check.”

The event is free and open to the public.
